Quality Control

There are three in-built quality control mechanisms:

Firstly, PB Coaching is known for both it's rigorous and thorough approach to the design and delivery of every single programme from the quality of the tutoring, to the workbook materials, to the choice of training venue. We are fully committed to continuous improvement and surpassing client expectations.

Secondly, the validation processes conducted by LMU or UCD leading to the offering of postgraduate awards together with its full range of quality processes ensures a second party control mechanism.

Thirdly, PB Coaching has an ongoing process of customer feedback. We record both written and verbal feedback and build it into our continuous improvement cycle.

Our Philosophy of Coach Education

The theoretical aspects of coach education are a vital aspect of learning to coach effectively but theory of itself does not produce an excellent coach. Coaching, after all, is a practical activity and any coach training worth its salt must be grounded in sound professional practice. This is why we devote so much attention to our practice/feedback model of coach development. At each workshop you work in trios rotating around the roles of coach, coachee and observer. The feedback and learning from these sessions is often the most significant part of the programme for many.

However there is yet another fundamental dimension to advanced coach training and that is the personal development of the coach. We strongly believe that the coach needs a place to address and work through their own issues if they are to operate with the emotional intelligence required of an effective coach. Our coaching certificate and diploma programmes pay special attention to this and is a hall-mark of our approach. Finally, we are firm advocates of coaching supervision as essential to good professional practice and build this into our workshop structure.

Final Points

We continue to research the coaching field for best practice and also learn from our own experience. These programmes have been run many times both as Open Programmes and In-House to a range of companies. Our clients regularly tell us that they are special and unique. They have both breadth and depth and can genuinely be considered at the leading edge of coach training in the world.

You will have picked up that they have a stronger psychological flavour rather than most others. This suits some people more than others but we stand by it because we fundamentally believe that significant life and work issues tend to have psychological and emotional dimensions to them. That doesn't mean that our coach training is therapy training in disguise - it is not. Rather we draw on a range of thinking including psychology to equip aspiring and practicing coaches to develop their understandings and skills. If you take your training with us we believe you will be delighted with the results.

Finally we know that it is a big decision and investment so we are always happy to talk on the phone - in fact we insist on it - or to meet you in person to discuss your training requirements.

If you are an 'overseas' visitor to this site please note our commitment to international delivery. Email us with your enquiry - we would be delighted to hear from you.
