Personal Development Workshops for Coaches
Knowledge and skill development are both key aspects of training to be a great coach. A highly evolved understanding of professional practice issues is also crucial along with working to a clear code of ethics. All these things can be learned through reading, attending training programmes and plenty of coaching practice. Opportunities for in-depth personal development can be harder to find yet matter just as much. To create the effective 'holding environment' of executive coaching requires more than technical or professional skill. It requires that we look at ourselves and the quality of presence we bring to coaching. Our ways of being and interacting have as much influence as our words. To use our self as instrument of change means we have to develop high levels of personal awareness and work through our own 'material'. |

Short of going into personal therapy, which may be useful for some people at certain times, there are precious few places to address personal issues and themes.
Within our advanced coach training we place great emphasis on personal development but courses come to an end and personal issues often continue beyond them. Such is the importance we attach to this that we are stipulating that all delegates on our coaching psychology programme (advanced level) attend a series of our personal development workshops as a pre-requisite of attendance on the course.
However, we have extended this to all those who have attended any of our advanced training programmes and to all other experienced coaches.
