CPD / Supervision

Our Continuing Professional Development programme consists of the following:

Coaching Supervision
The European Mentoring and Coaching Council’s (EMCC) Code of Ethics requires that all its members have supervision (in a form, frequency and duration that meets the needs of the nature of the coaching/mentoring being undertaken).

Supervision is a place for coaches to reflect on their work with another experienced, senior coach. It aids the professional development of the coach and also protects the client.

Short Development Programmes: Drawing on our experience and expertise, we have created a range of leading edge, short development programmes which can be delivered in-company or offered as open programmes. Some examples of the type of programmes we offer include:

Nice is Not Enough: Valuing the Art of Challenge in the Coaching Conversation: Although most coaches would nod vigorously when presented with the concept of both support and challenge being required for effective coaching, the actual practice of many coaches has a strong bias towards the supporting role and away from that of challenging their clients. The under use of challenge presents a lost opportunity to both coach and coachee in terms of development. Delegates will leave the programme with a clearer understanding of the importance of challenge as well as support and will feel better equip to bring the use of challenge into their own coaching practice.

Body of Awareness – Using Creative Approaches in the Coaching Relationship:  This 2-day workshop is designed for coaches who wish to draw upon creative approaches to extend their coaching repertoire. The course draws upon the traditions of gestalt, creative arts and bodywork. The focus throughout is upon raising the awareness of the coach and coachee, and exploring the coaching relationship. There will be an opportunity to engage in the creative process as a way to connect with self and other. A range of creative arts will be introduced, including working with images and metaphor, drawing and movement. There will be a particular focus on attending to the non-verbal and visual communication in the coaching relationship.

Coaching Resilience - The title of this workshop can be understood, and is intended to be, in two ways: one – helping clients explore their issues around resilience and two – enabling coaches to develop their own resilience. The notion of resilience is a definite ‘hot’ topic in organisational and leadership thinking at the moment and also a very real issue in the current, challenging, environment. Beyond the usual hype, there is a set of useful ideas coaches can use to help their clients not to avoid difficult changes, demanding situations and setbacks but to ‘bounce back’ from them.
