In-Company Coach Training

Many companies are recognising the need to train and develop their managers and staff in coaching skills.

We run four levels of coach training as in-company programmes.

  1. Executive briefings
  2. Basic coaching programmes.
  3. Intermediate courses, and
  4. Advanced postgraduate programmes

1. Executive Briefings

Many Chief Executives and Directors recognise a need to learn more about coaching for a number of reasons:

  • For the Chief Executive to coach his/her senior team more effectively.
  • For Directors to coach their Operational Heads of Departments.
  • In order to ‘role model the process’ where coaching is taking place elsewhere in the organisation.

An Executive Briefing is a one-day workshop where we work with some or all of your senior management team to look at: the purpose of coaching, how to coach, who to coach and the benefits of coaching.

2. Basic Coach Training

These courses are designed for managers and staff who want to acquire a level of competence in coaching skills. They can be tailored to the needs of your organisation, generally take a two or three day format, and are very practical. They can be delivered to any group within the organisation including the top team who may have experienced the Executive Briefing and want to take their coach training one step further.

3. Intermediate Coach Training

These longer programmes are geared to organisations who are wanting to equip a number of managers and/or trainers to a higher level of coaching competence. Course delegates may be taking on a coaching champion role within the business as part of a wider coaching initiative.

The structure of our Intermediate Programme is as follows:

  • A three day starter workshop.
  • A second three day workshop after three months.
  • A final two day workshop three months later.

As such the programme offers eight days of training over a six month period. The gaps between the workshops offer an opportunity to put the training into practice. Delegates are also expected to keep a Reflective Journal. A Certificate of Attendance is provided upon completion of the course.

4. Advanced Coach Training (postgraduate level)

Our postgraduate coaching programmes can be run in-company where your requirements are for the highest level of coach training. Full details of the postgraduate certificate can be found on our website under the ‘Coach Training Portfolio’ section. It is a sixteen day programme which can be structured to meet practical considerations and leads to the Leeds Metropolitan University award of ‘Postgraduate Certificate in Business and Executive Coaching’.

In Ireland the award is from UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business and is entitled, ‘Advanced Management Diploma in Executive Coaching'.
