Originally designed by our founder and coaching thought leader Peter Bluckert in 2000, our Postgraduate Certificate in Executive and Business Coaching is recognised as one of the longest running and most advanced coach training programmes available in the UK. Validated at Postgraduate level by Leeds Beckett University (60 CATS points) and accredited by Europe’s largest professional coaching body the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, it is a is specifically designed to train high quality and highly credible coaches who can operate with psychological awareness and skill independently and in organisations.
Central to the PB Coaching approach are the principles of Gestalt psychology, and this course prepares delegates to use these principles, becoming skilled at working with the psychological dimensions of coaching – a territory which is critical to helping coaching clients make lasting changes to ingrained patterns of behaviour.

The programme is in constant evolution, ensuring delegates are equipped with the most up to date and relevant theory and models relating to executive and business coaching, the psychological dimensions of coaching, coaching in systems and coaching senior leaders. Upon completion delegates are highly competent and confident executive and business coaches, fully prepared with the skills, accreditations and qualifications to work independently or as an advanced coaching resource within an organisation.

This 16-day programme is structured into six workshops over a nine month period, fitting in with Leeds Beckett University’s academic year (September to May).
Delegates learn a wide range of relevant theory, and embed their learning through observed practice and feedback sessions. A distinguishing feature of this course is the strong element of experiential learning gained in the ‘Community Group’.
The focus is on executive and business coaching, and coaching in the organisational context (including coaching senior leaders, understanding systems and developing coaching cultures), but the psychological skills that our delegates gain enable them to work on a wide range of issues. As well as being a top tier coach training programme in its own right, the Postgraduate Certificate in Executive and Business Coaching carries 60 CATS points and as such it is one third of a 180 CATS points Masters Degree. Upon completion delegates are eligible to apply to join either the Postgraduate Diploma in Coaching Psychology or the Postgraduate Diploma in Coaching Supervision (120 CATS points).
Assessment includes academic assignments, the completion of a coach competency inventory and completion of a specified number of coaching hours.
Upon completion of this course you will be ideally placed to provide an advanced coaching resource within an organisation or to set up an independent coaching practice. You will have completed an highly regarded and professionally accredited coaching course, with academic validations.

I gained a tremendous amount personally from attending the PB Coaching Postgrad. The experience challenged my own leadership style and caused me to reflect on the person I am and the person I want to be.
