NEWPostgraduate Diploma in Coaching SupervisionWhat is Supervision?Supervision is now recognised as an essential element of professional coaching practice. Supervision is a formally contracted relationship with one person in the role of supervisor and the other(s) in the role of coach. The primary intention of supervision is for the supervisor to assist the coach gain additional understanding and develop the effectiveness of their coaching practice. Supervision and coachingExecutive and business coaching is a complex activity. The coachee's agenda is likely to cover a range of themes such as strategic management, organisational politics, leadership development, work/life balance, and so forth. The coaching relationship contains many layers of meaning, many of which are difficult for the coach to grasp during a particular coaching session. These layers include:

Professional Requirement for SupervisionThe European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) Code of Ethics requires that all its members have supervision (in a form, frequency and duration that meets the needs of the nature of the coaching/mentoring being undertaken). Course InformationWho this course is designed for:The course will meet the needs of the practising business and executive coach who wishes to take on the role of coaching supervisor. Assessment and the AwardDelegates will complete a Reflective Practice Journal and be required to complete 3 assignments during the programme. The course is currently seeking accreditation through Leeds Metropolitan University. Dates October 2010 intake; Workshop 1: 7/8 October 2010 Workshop 2: 24-26 November 2010 Workshop 3: 19-21 January 2011 Workshop 4: 9-11 March Workshop 5: 4-6 May Workshop 6: 23/24 June Cost & up to 60% subsidy towards course fees The cost of the programme is £6,600 plus VAT. This figure includes the LMU post-graduate award enrolment fee which gives delegates the use of LMU student services, the external assessment process, the provision of award and the award ceremony. VAT is added to all quoted figures. Up to 60% subsidy towards course fees - PB Coaching is able to support applications from businesses in Yorkshire and Humber for up to 60% of the costs of training through the Train to Gain Enhancement Fund. This funding is available for a limited period only so to take advantage now. The precise subsidy is dependent upon the Enhancement Funds regulations and may be subject to change. Depending on the volume of coaching work you are undertaking, you may also need to budget for additional supervision. During your study, we are able to offer supervision at a heavily discounted rate.
